EVOLUTION IS THE NATURE OF CREATION

vedic meditation

What is Vedic Meditation? Vedic meditation is a mantra-based meditation technique originating from the ancient body of knowledge known as the Veda. It is an easy, accessible practice that anyone can do. Vedic meditation is a powerful, efficient way to release stress and allow the body to rest deeply and reboot. It is a practice that in its healing of body and mind will bring us back to our essential selves allowing us to interact fluidly with all the many demands of life today.

  • Vedic Meditation is practiced with the effortless repetition of your personal mantra. As we repeat the mantra gently in our mind, we begin to relax into our least excited state, thereby allowing stress to release as our physiology becomes quieter and quieter. We “transcend” the tensions and reactive state we carry with us into the world everyday and allow the deep inner contentedness of our natural self to be at the wheel.

  • This is a powerful technique simply because, when we spend more and more time in our least excited state, we begin to take that quality of ourselves into the world outside of meditation. When we practice letting go then that becomes habit. We are able to confront fear, anxiety and unrealistic expectations with a simple imperative drawn from our practice: adapt and evolve; transcend where you are. Our natural human evolutionary qualities are brought to the forefront and we are better able to find the paths of least resistance in our lives.

  • Longtime meditators live longer happier lives! It’s just that simple! As a result of a continued practice of letting go and releasing stresses on a daily basis, our relationship to stress completely changes. Stress is the number one killer of humans and you can see, as a longtime meditator ages, the lines on our face are just a bit fainter and the aging process is delayed. The cascade of effects from a daily practice is infinite but what stands out is our ability to interact with demands both positive and negative. Our larger sense of self is embedded into the waking state and an underlying sense of fulfillment is integrated into our relationship with the world.

  • Your health and happiness has no numerical value and it is a healthier and happier life that is the inherent value of this practice. Your inner fulfillment is the truest value of your life.

the technique

Simple, effortless, and natural. Vedic meditation can be practiced anywhere by anyone. It is a mantra-based meditation technique that equips you with the tools to step beyond thought and rest deeply on your own. This is not a technique where you have to “white knuckle” it to enlightenment. In fact, it works WITH the natural cadence of your physiology to give the head and the heart what it needs most: the ability to let go of the stresses that bind us and gently find our way back to our essential selves. Learning the technique is simple and accessible, it begins with an Intro Talk!

ABOUT

rachel and the vedic tradition

Vedic meditation changed my life, it’s just that simple. Like every other youngish person in New York City I was stretched beyond my capacity and I had a nervous system on fire. With the demands we are all facing, the irony is that that fire is often misinterpreted as an intensity that gives one purpose, but it can also burn you up. As a life long seeker and dedicated yogi, I came to Vedic Meditation with an open mind but without a full understanding of just how profound the effect would be. As I began to practice daily I felt deep relief at the ease and grace that would descend as I opened my eyes at the end of each meditation. This relief is what kept me coming back to my seat, and it is that relief that I am so passionate about sharing with you. This is a tradition and a technique that long precedes us and will remain long after we are gone. This is because it is simple, it is true, and it is natural.
